This was a much better lens than I was anticipating This was a much better lens than I was anticipating! It’s not my Canon 24-70mm 2.8, but it definitely serves it’s purpose. This lens is great for bringing to my kids’ school programs – I can get a great view of the whole class and I can zoom in close to get just my daughter in the picture. I wasn’t sure how it would do in not-so-ideal lighting in the school gym, but it worked so well. I loved that I could use just this one lens and not have to keep switching and missing part of her program…

Probably a good travel lens, mine was just cranky… I was looking for a good travel lens that would cover all spectrums of shooting, and this lens might work for some (obviously it has based on the ratings), but it’s performance -for me- does not replace the convenience of not having to switch lenses. Good addition for travel! I just used this lens to take 700+ photos on my Grand Tetons/Yellowstone trip and while I am still getting used to its imitations I have grown to really love it. I was able to zoom clear across valleys and lakes to get fairly detailed shots of mountains and most of the time get those flower and other closeups as well.It is the heaviest lens I currently own and I’m still getting used to that but it has proved to be a great lens for multiple situations; better than my previous…
