Made just for mirrorless mounts is the new Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS lens. It is available in Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X, Samsung NX, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts. Its 35mm focal length equivalency for MFT cameras is 24mm, for Canon M cameras it is 19.2mm, and for the other three mounts, 18mm. With an f/2.0 maximum aperture, it is particularly effective in low-light capture and can control shallow depth of field for precise subject focus with pleasing out-of-focus backgrounds. It offers a minimum focus distance of 7.9″. The lens’s impressive optical construction consists of three Extra-low Dispersion elements, one aspherical, and one hybrid aspherical element. The nano-crystal coating is applied to the inner surface of the two front-most lens elements to minimize ghosting and flare and improve overall image clarity. The Rokinon 12mm accepts front filters and provides a 67mm diameter thread.

Rokinon 12mm review. Great for landscapes. Build Quality: The lens is well constructed and relatively small. The lens mount is metal and the front of the barrel and the focus ring is plastic. The aperture and focus rings are well-dampened, needing both fingers to turn. Close focus is a little less than .66m and it focuses a little past infinity, but there is a mark for infinity…

A super cheap, super fast A super cheap, super fast, super wide angle lens, what more could you want? This lens shines in any landscape environment, especially a dark night sky, and is also just a great all around lens once you get used to the manual focusing. It completely changed the way I use my a6000. Get this lens and leave it in your bag, you won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommend this lens to new photographers looking to shoot landscape or astrophotoraphy. This has been a powerhouse of a lens for me, being incredible versatile in everything from landscape to portrait to astrophotography. I highly recommend this lens to anyone who is just starting photography and needs a great all-around lens to practice with. This lens is super wide-angle and is superb in low light. It’s simple to pick up on. Ideally. once you start using it, you can set infinity focus and use it to point-and-shoot. Rokinon makes an excellent line of lenses and I’m happy this was…
