Less expensive than Canon equivalent and MUCH sharper. I was tempted by this lens after my huge disappointment with the new Canon 25-105 f4 II L. The images from the Canon lens on my 5D Mark IV never felt quite right — soft and lacking contrast. I thought it might have been the particular lens I received, or the IS system, but after careful calibration and a trip to Canon Professional Services, I was assured it was all working as it was meant to — but it still didn’t render impressive results.Enter the Sigma. Great choice for non-native lens on Sony E-Mount I use this on my A7R III, and I absolutely love this lens. I wish it were slightly lighter and smaller, but the cheaper price compared to Sony makes the trade-off worth it. This lens works flawlessly and delivers superb images. Paired with the MC-11 adapter, I often forget it’s adapted.Update 2018.03.22: I updated my MC-11 firmware to the most recent version, and now the lens hunts in continuous AF if I am using flexible spot. Just an FYI. Will likely be resolved with another…

The Nikkor 24-70 would give me soft-focus issues every once in a while, but NOT the Sigma. The Sigma is sharper than the Nikkor 24-70 at every…
