A great lens that you would best avoid. A few days prior to this review, I found an offer for the non VR version of this lens that no sane person could refuse. Lets start with the positives of this lens that I have discovered thus far during my use.The first plus is that the AF system on this lens is like nothing I have ever seen before. Good for Beginners! Auto focus is fast with the AF-P, but the lens is a dust pump Nikon makes really great glass, but to get some nice stuff you have to pony up! This lens is awesome for someone who is just getting their feet wet in photography. However, if you are “getting serious” in photography, it’s a good idea to just save up for a different telephoto lens.Without the image stabilization, you will be limited to shooting on bright days to get still shots at 300mm.
