Good for beginners, except… Valerie seems like a very good communicator and offered sound advice for those starting out with Street Photography. I’m sure her workshops offer a good experience.The only problem is that her own photos, used as examples in the book, are uninspiring and generally mediocre as street photos. One would be better off looking at masters of the genre for inspiration.

The Decisive Moment The first part of the book is an overview of methods used in street photography. She discusses her approach to street photography, which is good since I have no idea what I’m doing in that regard. There are some standard photo techniques, a bit about legal issues, and some assignments to try out. This is all good stuff, and it got me hungry for more.
