Great for more than studio lighting I bought these for lighting video interviews, but recently used them in an emergency when we needed to open the gates on the riser of a flood control structure that showed signs of potential failing. There was no waiting until the next day, so the work had to be done at night. The lights were just what we needed to provide some general lighting (one on top of the dam, one near the foot of the dam). It’s amazing how much light these things put out. Great lights, frustrating soft boxes. These lights are fantastic. Truly, a great solution to continuous lighting for either video or photography. The soft boxes, however, make me want to kick a puppy. When you can manage to get them to stay on the LED panels, they’re great. Nice soft diffusion, lightweight, nice. But the f***krs won’t stay on! It’s like a greased pig trying to get them to mount to the light panel! Both the LED casing and the soft boxes are lined with smooth materials that slip off like KY on a butt cheek as soon as…
Great value and good performance I unboxed this kit last night and then did a 90-minute setup and video shoot. They performed very well on their maiden voyage, considering their price point.The lights themselves really put out a lot of light, in a very spotlight-like pattern. They’re definitely not built to spread light around a room, but they’ll light up a relatively small area like a supernova.
