The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4.0G ED VR zoom lens is the upgraded standard zoom lens for FX-format D-SLRs offers a constant maximum aperture to maintain exposure settings throughout the entire zoom range. Features: Compact and versatile 5x standard zoom lens with F/4 maximum aperture – perfect for landscapes, portraits, weddings and distant subjects offering a constant maximum aperture to maintain exposure settings throughout the entire zoom range and VR II image stabilization. Nikon VR II (vibration Reduction) image stabilization – vibration Reduction, engineered specifically for each VR NIKKOR lens, enables handheld shooting at up to 4 shutter speeds slower than would otherwise be possible, assuring dramatically sharper still images and video capture. 2 extra-low dispersion (ED) elements – offers superior sharpness and color correction by effectively minimizing chromatic aberration, even at the widest aperture setting. M/A focus mode switch – enables quick changes between manual and autofocus operation. Exclusive Nikon Silent Wave Motor (SWM) – enables fast, accurate and quiet autofocus. Rounded 9-blade diaphragm – renders more natural appearance of out-of-focus image areas. Extended range on Nikon DX-format D-SLR cameras – angle of view is equivalent to a focal length of 36-180mm in FX/35mm format. Nano Crystal Coat – further reduces ghosting and interior flare across a wide range of wavelengths for even greater image clarity. 3 aspherical lens elements – aspherical lens elements virtually eliminate coma and other types of aberration, even when shooting at the widest available aperture. Internal focus (If) – provides fast and quiet autofocus without changing the length of the lens, retaining working distance throughout the focus range. Nikon super integrated coating (SIC) – enhances light transmission efficiency and offers superior color consistency and reduced flare. Closest focusing distance 0.45m

Product description shows a lens hood and bag and says … Product description shows a lens hood and bag and says the product is Nikon refurbished. This came in a plain open paper box, in a plastic bag with no lens hood or bag. This is not certified refurbished. Certified refurbished comes in a grey box with all accessories the lens comes with from Nikon (i.e., lens hood and bag).

Second thoughts! I have obviously had this lens for a while, but never got around to writing a review–mainly because initially, I wasn’t really satisfied with it. I bought it right before a two week trip to Scandinavia and had some focus issues with the lens (wouldn’t always seem to focus correctly). I even thought about returning it, as I got back from Europe in time to do so.But somehow, I never got around to it, as I shoot with a D700, and this was the only FF lens I owned. About a month ago,…

A excellent “workhorse” lens for full-frame Nikons. An excellent all-around lens for the full frame Nikon cameras. The f/4 represents a bit of a compromise, but one I am more than willing to make for the added flexibility over the 24-70/2.8. The 24-120 balances well on my D750 and does most everything I’ve asked of it well. It’s an excellent choice for event photography, is quite good for portrait work, and makes a good “walking-around” lens when we travel.
