The Sigma 16mm 1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a high performance prime with a large aperture of F1.4 designed for APS-C Mirrorless cameras including Sony E mount and Micro Four Thirds. The Contemporary line is part of Sigma Global Vision and is the perfect blend of image quality and compact size. The large aperture is great for lowlight and for creating depth of field and its small size makes it highly portable.
The optical design and stepping motor deliver smooth autofocus during video shooting. The lens design fully accommodates the Fast Hybrid AF of Sony E-mount cameras for super-fast autofocus functionality. Using face recognition AF results in consistent autofocusing on faces, even as the subjects move.Like all SGV lenses, each lens is hand crafted in our single factory in Aizu Japan, individually inspected before shipping.

Very happy Upgraded to this lens from my kit lens for the Sony a6000. Thus far my wife and I are loving the clarity, the bokeh, and the low light performance. Of course it is bigger than the kit lens but it isnât too big of an inconvenience. We are really excited about this lens and the improvement to our photos. The whole kit (accessories) that came with the lens were also a nice bonus. Iâm liking the compact backpack and the handheld tripod. I highly recommend this lens and this package deal.
Great lens to have for your collection. Great lens. I’m a point and shoot guy, not a professional, maybe a beginner hobbyists. I Use this with my Sony A6000 and it’s a big upgrade from my 16mm – 50mm kit lens. The build quality of this lens is terrific, definitely made to last. When you have it in your hand you can just feel its worth. There’s no oss but it’s Super sharp and great in low light and indoor areas using no flash. Back ground blur is nice in my images. Very crisp, and amazing package deal. I am a creative portrait photographer that just switched from Sony to Nikon. Absolutely love this lens. The clarity is insane. Image stabilization is a nightmare, but a tripod or a steady hand can fix that. All of the components that come with the lens are very handy as well. Unbeatable price.
