the price is good, but the whole ad is a bit of … Be forewarned – this is NOT a USM lens, contrary to the pictures they are using for it. Ultrasonic Motor lenses (USM) are quiet and very fast, including options for image stabilization right on the lens, which is attractive to people who take actions shots or work in low level light, etc. You’re still getting a deal on the lens, but know it is loud and not as fast as what they list in the picture. Great Telephoto Results I recently acquired a Canon Rebel T6 camera that I really enjoy, but the ability to take close up telephoto or “zoom” pictures was not possible with the lens provided with the camera. Not bad, but there are better options This lens is functional, butthe Canon 55-250 is a much better option for the APS-C sensor cameras. This lens is quite noisy, and there is quite a bit of chromatic aberration at long zooms. This was not the STM version as advertised, so the motors were quite noisy and jerky. Since I was not using this lens for video, it would not matter, but the aberration was so bad it made wildlife photos pretty much unusable.
